More than two thousand years ago, the ancient Chinese philosopher Mencius said, 'Ruling the world is not among the joys of a man of virtue.'
Today, I wholeheartedly agree, for I have seen how one can be unhappy even at the pinnacle of success.
I grew up observing my parents' lives. By society's standards, they were 'successful,' yet they never seemed truly joyful in their personal lives. At the same time, I met people who were deeply content and naturally brought smiles to those around them.
So, what makes the difference? Today, I believe that happiness is something we can all learn how to achieve.
